A true commitment to an electric future Porsche is transforming itself while remaining true to a vision of innovative sports car performance. 1,200 new jobs are being created by the launch of the fully electric Taycan, whilst the production version of the Mission E Cross Turismo concept will generate a further 300 jobs. This is part of a remarkable investment of €6 billion that will see a revolution in production. A ‘factory within a factory’ has been constructed in the heart of the company’s main plant at Zuffenhausen. Moving away from traditional assembly line approaches in favour of smart flexi-line production, these state-of-the-art facilities combine continuous production with a new flexibility, increasing the number of work cycles possible in the same amount of space. The Taycan production process is already carbon neutral, and the ultimate goal is for the entire main Porsche factory to have zero environmental impact. “We predict that over 50 percent of Porsche models delivered from 2025 will be electrified.” Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.
