Attack Mode Every race has special features that won’t be seen in any other series. The Attack Mode gives drivers an extra 25kW power boost after driving through a special zone off the racing line. The details of Attack Mode — how many times you can get it in that race, how long the boost will last for, and the minimum number of times drivers must take it — are only given 60 minutes before the race begins. This means teams have to think fast, both before and during the race, to build the best strategies. When a driver is in Attack Mode, the car’s halo protection system glows blue. Fanboost Fanboost is another unique feature of FIA Formula E that gives fans the power to boost their favourite drivers — from six days ahead up until 15 minutes after the race begins. The community vote online, and the five most popular drivers receive an extra burst of power they can deploy in a five-second window during the second half of the race. When they activate Fanboost, the car’s halo glows magenta.
